The Liberal Nationals are committed to investing in schools to ease the local population squeeze – as well as planning for schools’ future needs.
That’s why an elected Liberal Nationals Government will deliver $237,000 of funding to support upgrades and works at Caulfield Junior College.
With 469 currently enrolled students and a growing school community, parents and students at Caulfield Junior College need to plan and upgrade their school for the future.
This funding will support upgrades to 6 classrooms, which are in desperate need of basic carpet, painting and furniture upgrades as well as relocating and preserving two historic two murals at the school painted by William Dargie.
Furthermore, this funding will support the development of a long-term masterplan for the school, providing a framework for Caulfield Junior College to meet future needs and accommodate growth.
Labor has been in government in Victoria for 15 of the last 19 years, and its long-term neglect has meant this school has not kept up with local population growth.
Only the Liberal Nationals will get back in control of population growth and back Caulfield Junior College so that local students can get the very best education.
Comments attributable to Shadow Minister for Education, Tim Smith:
“Out of control population growth in our suburbs is placing enormous pressure on our schools.
A Liberal Nationals Government, together with David Southwick will give Caulfield Junior College the modern facilities they so desperately need and rightly deserve.”
Comments attributable to Member for Caulfield, David Southwick:
“Caulfield Junior College has been ignored by Daniel Andrews and Labor, only a Matthew Guy Liberal National Government will deliver the critical upgrades this school needs.
The Liberal Nationals will upgrade Caulfield Junior College and give students the best opportunities to learn in a modern learning environment.”
