Media Release - Labor walks back its former tough talk on Corkman Hotel rebuild

   Thursday, 21 February 2019

Today in Question Time the Planning Minister, Richard Wynne, started walking back from his previous tough talk on requiring the developers who illegally demolished the Corkman Hotel to rebuild it.

Richard Wynne also dodged questions about new Labor MP, Will Fowles’ former role as a lobbyist to these dodgy developers.

The Member for Burwood, Will Fowles, was a highly paid lobbyist for these developers following their illegal demolition of this iconic heritage building.

Despite being invited several times to guarantee that the developers will complete an exact rebuild of the Corkman, Richard Wynne repeatedly refused to do so.

If Richard Wynne misunderstood the questions in Parliament today, we invite him to clear up the matter this afternoon with a statement declaring his unequivocal position about the timing of an exact rebuild of the Corkman.
