Kew High School - Members Statement
Wednesday, 19 June 2019
Mr T SMITH (Kew) (10:17:41): Kew High School is an important school in the electorate of Kew, and it serves students not only in the eastern suburbs and in Boroondara but in Ivanhoe as well. Kew High School was promised a new STEM centre by the Minister for Education. It has not been delivered in this budget; it has not been planned for at all. We need $8.7 million immediately from the Andrews Labor government to build a STEM centre at Kew High School. It is a broken promise, with $1 million only in the budget for general upgrades at that important school. Labor matched my promise at the last election for a new STEM centre at Kew High School. It is not in this year’s budget, and I condemn Labor for another misleading statement in the lead-up to the 2018 election.
